Skybound

exploring new horizons within air travel

While air travel can have its challenges and moments of stress, it is a widely used and efficient mode of transportation that connects people across the globe.

Cheap Airlines

How big is your carry on?

While, airlines typically provide detailed information on their websites, including the permitted dimensions, weight limits, and any additional fees for oversized or overweight bags.

It's not uncommon for travelers to be uncertain about airline baggage restrictions, especially if they are infrequent flyers or have not recently reviewed the specific requirements of the airline they are flying with.

Airlines do this to maintain quicker boarding times, efficient use of cabin space, and smoother operations overall.

How big can it be?

For Spirit Airlines:

Maximum dimensions: 18 in x 14 in x 8 in

Ryanair:

Maximum dimensions: 21.6 in x 15.7 in x 7.9 in

Low-cost airlines like Ryanair, Spirit Airlines, and other similar carriers typically ask passengers to store their carry-on bags in the overhead compartments or under the seats in the cabin.

These storage options maximize space efficiency and ensure that the aisles remain clear during boarding, in-flight, and disembarkation.

The Traveling Photographer

Who are they?

The popularity of photography has increased.

Professional photographers, hobbyists, and tourists often bring standalone cameras to capture high-quality images during their travels.

Entry-level digital cameras can start from around $300, while more advanced mirrorless or DSLR cameras can range from $500 to several thousand dollars.

How do they pack for a flight?

  1. Pack light and smart: Traveling with camera gear can be cumbersome, so prioritize essential equipment and pack efficiently. Consider versatile lenses, lightweight tripods, and compact accessories to minimize weight and maximize convenience.

  2. Protect your gear: Invest in sturdy camera bags or backpacks with padded compartments to protect your equipment during travel. Use lens filters and lens hoods to safeguard against scratches and damage. Consider insurance coverage for your gear in case of loss or theft.

Compact and Anti-Theft

With airline transportation systems reaching capacity, having a compact backpack allows individuals to navigate through these environments more easily.

Moving throughout largely crowded areas can be strenuous especially when carrying expensive valuables like laptops, cameras, etc.

Using innovative features such as hidden zippers, slash-resistant materials, and locking mechanisms will help to deter potential thieves.

These features ensure a hassle-free experience during long commutes in largely crowded spaces.

What current luggage brands and trends exist?

WGSN Trend Report

The backpack has enjoyed steady success, in line with the rise of trends such as the #futurecommuter and #thegreatoutdoors, and this looks set to continue with seasonal themes including Desert Rider and Localcore. Balance utilitarian qualities with an elegant design, including heritage logos, multiple compartments and #protectivedesign features. Extend its long-term appeal with premium leathers and weatherproof materials. Add modular straps for equipment storage, as seen at US label Eastpak.
